If you have a passport or valid travel document from one of the above-listed nationalities, you are eligible to apply for an e-Visa provided the confirmation that you have not broken the laws of Azerbaijan Republic (specifically in respect to entering Nagorno Karabakh) and that you are not a carrier of the HIV virus. If your country of nationality is not on the list, you are not eligible for an e-Visa so you will need to apply directly to an Azerbaijani diplomatic mission, consulate or embassy.
Why choose an e-Visa?
Getting an e-visa is simple and quick; it can be done from anywhere where there is a stable Internet connection. This eliminates the inconvenience and costs associated with visiting the Azerbaijani consulate or using the courier service.
What documents do I need?
The application process uses an online form. You do not require any hard copy documents, but you will need to provide a scanned copy of your passport in JPEG format. The copy should be sharp and with all details clearly legible. Maximum file size is 1MB. Payment is by MasterCard, MaestroCard or VisaCard.
If I don’t have access to a scanner, how can I send you a copy of my passport?
You can usually take a photo of your passport using a camera of good enough quality, but before sending it, check the clarity and legibility of all image details. TIPS – take the photograph on a bright day but not in direct sunlight. Beware of using flash photography which can cause reflections that bleach out important areas of detail. Depending on the camera settings, the file size may be larger than the allowed maximum of 1 MB.
Why should I use visa-azerbaijan.com?
We have made the process clear and simple. Our agents are ready to answer your questions 24 hours a day, check the status of your application and give details of a contact person from whom you can get any information about the application process.
How long can I stay in Azerbaijan?
The maximum stay for an e-visa is 30 days. Usually, e-visas are not extendable, therefore, if you need to stay in the country for a longer period, you will need to apply for a longer-stay visa through our Longer-Stay visa service.
What is the validity of an e-Visa?
An e-Visa is valid for 90 days, which means that you must use it within 90 days of issuance (for a single stay of up to 30 days).
I am already in Azerbaijan. Can I apply for an e-Visa as a way to stay here longer?
No. You can only apply from outside Azerbaijan so you must leave first and then apply from another country.
Does the visa allow multiple entries?
No. An e-Visa is always for a single entry but you can easily apply for another visa after you have left Azerbaijan.
If I am only transiting Baku airport to reach a connecting flight, do I have to obtain a visa?
No. You would only need a visa if you had to leave the international transit area.
I had to cancel my trip to Azerbaijan. Can I get a refund for the visa since I won’t be using it?
Sorry. Visas are non-refundable.
How can I pay for the e-Visa?
The simplest method of payment today is payment by credit or debit cards MasterCard, Maestro Card or Visa with the active function of Internet payments. We do not accept checks or other cards, however, if you have friends or relatives in Baku, they can come to our office to pay in cash on your behalf.
Do I have to use my own credit/debit card.
No. The payment card does not have to be in your own name.
What happens if my e-Visa application is denied?
The vast majority of visa applications are successful, but unfortunately, there are no refunds for applications that are denied. If your application for an e-visa is rejected, you can still get a visa by contacting the Azerbaijani consulate, but in this case you will need to make your own inquiries.
My passport is going to expire soon. Can I still apply for an e-Visa?
Your passport must be valid for at least 3 months after the expiry date of the e-visa. This means that if your passport expires in less than 6 months, you are recommended to renew it before you apply for an Azerbaijani visa.
I have previously visited Armenia. Does this mean that I will be refused an e-Visa for Azerbaijan.
Not automatically. Relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia remain strained, however, Azerbaijan welcomes those who wish to visit our country, providing that they have not visited illegally to the occupied territories of Azerbaijan from Armenia - in particular, to the self-proclaimed Nagorno-Karabakh. If you visited Nagorno-Karabakh in this way, you will not be allowed to enter the country, as it means the break of the law of Azerbaijan Republican could be liable for prosecution if you come to Azerbaijan.
I made a mistake when entering my personal details on the application form. What can I do to correct the errors?
If you have not yet pressed ‘CONFIRM’, you can go back using the ‘PREVIOUS ‘tab to make any corrections. If you have already pressed ‘CONFIRM’ the only option is to start a new e-Visa application.
The payment page asks me for CVV / CVC / CVC2 – what does this mean?
This means you need to enter the last three digits of the number that is printed on the signature strip on the rear of your MasterCard or Visa card.
How much do I have to pay?
For standard visas we charge US$45, for urgent visas US$90, though the sum will be billed in AZN (Manats) at the rate of the day. The total fee is made up of the government imposed visa charge, plus our fees covering international operation, card costs and service.
Does the cost vary by nationality?
No. All nationals who are eligible for an e-Visa pay the same charge.
Will I get a visa sticker for my passport?
No. The visa will arrive electronically as a pdf file. You must print it out (in color, A4 or letter size) and bring it ,along with your passport, when you arrive in Azerbaijan. Please keep the paper with you until you leave the country as it will be checked again on departure.
Once I arrive in Azerbaijan, do I need to register?
If you are planning to stay in the country less than ten days, there is no need to register. If you plan to stay longer, you will need to register for the first few days, or risk substantial fine. Registration is free, through the website www.migration.gov.az and regional offices of the migration department, but it’s simplier to ask your hotel staff to do the registration for you. Most respectable hotels do not charge for the service.
I have received my e-Visa but now I notice that I made a mistake on the application and that my e-Visa does not quite match what it says on my passport. Is that likely to cause a problem?
Alas, yes – it’s a problem. If the e-Visa doesn’t have exactly the same information as shown in your passport, then it is invalid and you will not be able to enter Azerbaijan. You will need to re-apply and obtain a new e-Visa. Unfortunately, the cost of the previous application will not be refunded.
Can I track the progress of my e-Visa application?
Most applications do not cause problems, and you are expected to receive acceptance notification by e-mail to the address you have registered. If consideration of the application takes more than standard 3 days, please contact us and we will find out the reason for the delay.
I lost my passport after receiving my e-Visa and the replacement passport has a different serial number. Will the e-Visa still be valid?
Unfortunately, no. E-visa is valid only with the passport for which it was issued so you will need to re-apply for a new visa using the new passport number and details. We apologize for not being able to refund your original application fee.
